On Sunday August 26, 2007 The Manchester Police Athletic League will be hosting it’s Fourth Annual Benefit Ride.
There will be a registration table on the day of the ride.
Registration begins at 9:00 am at Twisted Cycles in Manchester. The first 100 to arrive receive a ride t-shirt.
At 10:00 am the ride begins and travels with Police escorts through scenic back roads and then to The Black Brimmer for food, raffle prizes and entertainment at 1:00. All bikes will be escorted throughout the whole ride by the Manchester Police Department and other local departments are extremely helpful in their respective towns. All major intersections are blocked so we can go through in one pack. Once we get to Lowell Street at The Brimmer the parking meters will be bagged as “No Parking.” Those are for the ride and all bikes can park in those spaces.
This is a rain or shine event, all motorcycles are welcome. The first 100 riders to arrive on August 26th, will receive a benefit ride t-shirt. The event fee is $20 per person, this includes lunch and entertainment at The Brimmer.
On the day of the ride you will need to bring $20 and complete a registration form.
This year the ride money raised from the ride will be for a Manchester Police Department Fallen Officer Memorial. The memorial will be unveiled the day of the ride before we go to The Black Brimmer.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME
JOIN US FOR THE RIDE
All motorcyclists are welcome to join others from all over for a benefit ride through southern New Hampshire. Non-riders are also welcome at the ending barbeque and awards ceremony.
The Flames Ride is an annual event organized by volunteers to raise money to help beat diabetes. The ride takes place in New Hampshire, lasting 3-4 hours traveling on several scenic roads. We run a different route every year to keep the ride interesting for those who return year after year. The Flames Ride will begin in Manchester, New Hampshire, from MANCHESTER HARLEY DAVIDSON. We avoid any major highways to keep the ride as safe as we can. We typically stop once for fuel and drinks. The ride will end in Manchester, New Hampshire at THE STRANGE BREW TAVERN.
At the end of the ride, we gather for a large barbeque and awards ceremony. Free food will be provided for those who have paid the registration fee or volunteered their time. Everyone is welcome, even if you do not ride a motorcycle you can simply pay the registration fee that day or send in the registration form as a non-rider. We will raffle off several gifts that were donated by various organizations and give way FREE T-shirts to the first 100 people to register and as much free stuff as we can. Awards will be given for best custom bike, oldest bike, best paint job, furthest rider, and oldest rider.
Flame’s Ride was founded by a loving friend, named Alice Brockway. Alice’s good friend, named Beverly Comiskey, succumbed to the complications of diabetes. Bev’s nickname was Flame. Flame has many friends that remember her spirit and love of riding, and the loss they all feel is the reason the ride is named after her. We have committed ourselves to continue this ride in an effort to raise money to help beat this terrible disease. The money raised goes towards sending kids with diabetes to CAMP CAREFREE so that they can learn to live with their disease and towards research to help those who already have the disease learn how to live with it.
